Shinkaiso

A Lawson is right next door, and there’s a 7-Eleven across the street at an angle. The rooms were renovated about a year ago and felt clean. It’s right by Takagi Station and opposite the main gate of Nippon Railway, so nights are fairly quiet. You can hear some sound through the walls, though it wasn’t too bad for a place to stay.

For 9,900 yen, I got a night and two meals, and the portions were generous. The room and bathroom were clean, there’s plenty of parking, and two convenience stores are close by. This was my first stay here on a work trip. I’d read that the internet could be poor, but maybe my lower-floor room made a difference, since both my phone and PC worked fine. I’d prefer separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the rinse-in-one kind.

The toothbrush amenities were a nice touch, and the location is handy, with restaurants and convenience stores close by. The hotel looks newly renovated and was clean and pleasant. My one issue was the bed beside the window. Even with the curtains shut, cold air came through in winter. Aside from that, I’d have been very satisfied.

The room had shampoo, conditioner, face wash foam, a body sponge, toothbrush, hairbrush, hair tie and cotton swabs, plus disposable slippers. They also gave me a 500 ml bottle of mineral water at reception, and there were samue-style pajamas by the front desk. The place had apparently been renovated, and it was very clean. I thought the Wi-Fi was free, but the only connection in the room was a smartphone I couldn’t take out, which seemed to be for games. I couldn’t even look things up, which was disappointing.
