Okazaki Dai Ichi Hotel East Wing

A great place.

The rooms were spacious enough, even though there are only seven on each floor. Getting a room for five people just a week ahead had me a little worried, but for the price I think it’s quite good. From Higashi-Okazaki Station you have to cross a river to get there. The bridge right in front of the hotel is a wide, lit wooden walkway with a pleasant scent, and it’s a relaxing spot to pause after work.

I stayed with four coworkers, and the price difference between us was huge. I can’t make sense of how they set the rates. The breakfast was poor, the room felt like a prison camp, and it was small. Nothing about it was good. I won’t be back.

The simple complimentary breakfast of rice balls and bread is a real help. The room itself is average, like a typical business hotel. The location is handy, close to the station, convenience stores, and bicycle rentals. One thing to keep in mind is the tiny toilet. As other reviews mention, the seat is child-sized. I’m average-sized and could just about manage, but larger people would struggle.
