It had potential, but the place was old and so dirty that it seemed like nobody cleaned it. We didn’t have Wi-Fi where we stayed, which I’d never come across before. The owner also came across as unfriendly and not very concerned about guests. It was actually quite expensive compared with other places we stayed in Japan, and it wasn’t cheap to begin with. This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else.

The garden is beautiful, which makes it a pity the place could use some maintenance. There was dust everywhere, a black sponge in the kitchen, and around 20 mosquitoes in the room. I also saw a hand-sized spider in the shower room and a cockroach. It felt a bit disrespectful to welcome guests in those conditions.

Hanging out in the garden was really relaxing, and the place had a very good ambiance. The staff were courteous and friendly, and all the basic necessities were available. If you want a traditional Japanese place to stay, this is a great fit. The price was reasonable too. I’d definitely recommend it to everyone.

I was there in 2018, and aside from the mosquitoes, everything was nice. Guests could use bicycles. Keep an eye out for tortoises when you’re walking around, I spotted one in the water.
