Goyah-so Guesthouse

The owner is such a friendly soul, and you can tell everything's been prepared with care. It was cozy, clean, and authentic. I've had more comfort and better service here than at plenty of five-star ryokans. Highly recommend.

Our first night in Okinawa started out a bit rough. After more than 15 hours of travel, we arrived by bus from Okinawa airport so tired that we accidentally took someone else's suitcase. Our host, Hide Noshita, handled all the complicated calls and arrangements to track ours down, then drove over two hours to exchange the bags in Nago, up north. He was also a very sweet, helpful, resourceful gentleman, with great suggestions about what to see, where to go and eat, and how to leave. He even played and sang on "shin-san" for us. Thank you so much, Hide Noshita san!

The owner was a friendly, helpful guy who'd do almost anything for you. He even gave us a ride to the bus. Staying here also gave us a glimpse of a traditional japanese house. For an inexpensive, cool, relaxed place, Goyah-so is just what you're looking for.

The rooms are traditional, and the landlord is very busy but friendly. It's a cool place for backpackers, with a great price for the service. Just know the rooms are separated by thin sliding walls, so noise can carry both ways to the neighbors. Still, it's a nice spot for a couple of nights, with nice people.
