There aren't any convenience stores nearby, though you can buy cup ramen and simple snacks at the front desk. I also didn't see nearby restaurants, so I had dinner at the hotel's steakhouse. The course meal was more carefully put together than I expected, and it impressed me. I was staying in Musa-juku during a walking trip along the Old Nakasendo Road. The facilities have the feel of an old Showa-era business hotel, but the services made the stay very convenient for seniors. As a senior myself, I was very pleased. I think it's a good choice if you're staying in Musa-juku on a walking trip along the Old Nakasendo Road.

There's really nothing around here, not even convenience stores, supermarkets, or restaurants. I'd get supplies ahead of time from a shop near Omihachiman Station. Musashi Station, the nearest one, also has nothing around it. The TV only gets terrestrial channels: two NHK channels, four major commercial channels, KBS Kyoto, and Biwako Broadcasting.

The room was dirty, and the water and sewage noise made it the worst. I also rented a bicycle with weak brakes, then got a flat tire on the way. A bicycle shop repaired it and said it had several punctures and had been poorly maintained. I wasn't reimbursed for the repair and was charged extra without an apology. On top of that, they asked me to return sunglasses I hadn't rented.

The bathroom had mold, the exhaust fan was broken, and the shower didn't work. Breakfast starts at 7. I won't come back.

I can bring in whatever I want and leave whenever I want, which makes this place very convenient. It's close to where I'm going, and I use it every year.
