The clubhouse lunch was the best I’ve had at a golf course in Japan, especially the really yummy pork cutlet. It’s an amazing place, with a beautiful 18-hole course at a pretty reasonable price. The staff were friendly and the facilities clean.

I wouldn’t recommend playing here on a weekend. The course is good, but it gets so crowded that management needs to do a better job limiting golfers. My tee time was 7:15 AM, and even as a twosome we didn’t finish until around 3:30 PM. The back nine took about 30 minutes per hole. Ridiculously slow.

The resort has plenty for families besides golf, including BBQ, soccer golf, table tennis, billiards, hotel rooms and dome tents. I saw quite a few guests who didn’t seem to be golfers, and you can bring your dogs too. For a fee, you can play while your dog stays at the nursery. There’s a practice area for approaches and putting near the entrance, plus a driving range, though it’s tiny, about 40 yards with around five bays. The course was neat and tidy, the service good, and the food okay. I paid less than 15,000 JPY, which wasn’t bad. It’s a good resort in southeastern Chiba, under two hours from central Tokyo, though the drive from the nearest highway interchange takes about 30 minutes. From there you can come via the Aqualine or Keiyo road. There’s also a cool camel mascot and a statue of “Rakuda.” I’d strongly recommend avoiding Sunday if you have work the next day. Lines at every tee box, slow play, and a lunch break over an hour and a half made the day drag. Playing table tennis, billiards, or practicing putting and approaches can help fill a long lunch, but it won’t solve the traffic on the way home. Even teeing off before 7 AM won’t avoid that. I’d go again when I had enough time for the drive back.

The course was in great shape, and I had a delicious lunch. The par 3s were the one letdown, a bit dull and boring. Maybe a pond before the green would help. Still, I’ll come again. COSPA was nice too!
