The owner made me a delicious coffee when I ate the convenience store breakfast I'd brought to the dining room. The building has a lovely seaside resort feel, and the new air conditioner kept my twin room warm on a cold winter day. Check-in was friendly and thorough, and the room was clean and comfortable, with a well-made bed, a handy table, and two chairs. I left my shoes at the entrance and changed into slippers. The second-floor rooms with bathrooms are up a fairly steep staircase, which could be dangerous for small children. The bathroom unit is small and the exhaust fan is noisy, but it was clean and ready to use. The shower had good pressure and temperature. There were bath and hand towels, a toothbrush set, paper cups, shampoo, treatment, and body soap. There's no washlet. One thing that bothered me was having to wear slippers throughout, including outside the room and in the unit bathroom. The room has tile carpet, and I didn't feel like taking my socks off. The beach is just a few minutes away, though you have to cross a busy road. There's a convenience store nearby, and the station is walkable, so it worked well for a casual stay. Thanks for having me!

The room was spotless and perfectly fine as a bedroom. I checked in during the evening while the setting sun was warming it, which was nice. Both the man at check-in and the woman at checkout were very polite and helpful. The floor by the front desk is badly dented, probably because I'm too heavy, and I was scared it might give way at any moment. The stairs to the second floor seem sturdy, but I worried that the upstairs floor might collapse too. The WiFi wouldn't connect, and when it did, it was incredibly slow, lol, only about 1Mbps up and down. It was unusable, so I stopped trying. Mobile 4G was much more comfortable. The toilet has no washlet, but it flushes well enough. The bath was terrible. The boiler is off from 10pm to 6am, so you can't use it at night, and even at other times hot water rarely comes out. You have to turn the hot water knob all the way up and carefully adjust the water knob. It feels like they're trying to use the bare minimum. When I returned from getting food around 8pm, guests were making a lot of noise on the first floor. There was a lot of noise again from around 7am, maybe from guests. The first floor might be a common room, but if so, I wish the rooms had better soundproofing. The negative points were terrible.

There are lots of beaches nearby, so it's great when the weather cooperates. The staff gives you a map, and there's a convenience store nearby, so you can find somewhere to eat. In the morning, they served me a warm coffee. The rooms are clean and well kept, and the shared area has a kettle and refrigerator, which is handy. There isn't a private family bath, and the men's bath only fits about two people, so it felt a bit awkward when other guests were there.

A simple, unpretentious place with the feel of a guesthouse from the bubble economy era. It was like stepping into the kind of drama I used to dream about as a child. I stayed here as a kid when Onjuku beach was overflowing with young people, but these days there are fewer people around. The room for four with no meals cost just over 10,000 yen, which I really appreciated. There's a seafood izakaya within walking distance. We had a satisfying meal, strolled through the Moon Desert, watched fireworks, then went back to the guesthouse. In the morning, the owner makes coffee and enjoys chatting with guests.

I've always stayed at Sayan Terrace when I'm in Onjuku, so this was my first time here. It seems just right for a night without meals. The main drawback was how conversations and doors opening and closing carried between rooms. If that sort of noise bothers you, it may not be a good fit. Kids can't always help it, I guess, but I wish adults would be more considerate. I also would have liked extra toilet paper, since there were only a few rolls.
