The pool was just outside our balcony, so my two teenagers and I could hop in whenever we wanted. We spent five nights here, and it was a wonderful place to relax and have a great time.

We stayed for about four weeks while my husband was working in Okinawa and we searched for a place of our own. The hotel is old but nice, and they keep it very clean. The employees were very nice, except for one worker who made me feel like I was a bother. The main problem was how thin the walls were. When new neighbors checked in, we could hear everything, even when they weren’t being very loud, and they often were. We tried masking it with the AC and TV, but that didn’t always work. Quiet hours are supposed to start at 10:00, but none of them followed the rule.

My son had fun in the pool, but that was the only really good part of our stay. The hotel felt a bit run down, and our first-floor room beside the pool smelled dusty and moldy. The outdoor area was clean enough, just older than the photos on the hotel website. It also wasn’t soundproof. The guests above us ran, stomped, and jumped around for hours, loud enough to wake our 2-year-old. We called the front desk at 11pm, but it kept going until midnight. If you stay here, ask for a second-floor room.

We stayed in a private cottage and really enjoyed the room. It was spacious and clean, and I liked the art on the outside of the building. The pool was refreshing but a little dirty. There were two jacuzzis, but they were dirty too, so I didn’t use them. Their buttons didn’t work when I tried them. The cottage is well situated, about a 10-minute walk from nearby izakayas, with several lovely, less crowded beaches close by.

The walls are so thin that I can hear everything in the next room. The pool is small, old, and run down, and the photos on Instagram and elsewhere are extremely deceiving. This place feels one step above a bad campsite. We paid $200 and I’d give it zero stars if I could. I’m sick about the money and precious time we spent here, and can’t understand why it has any high ratings. I’m awake writing this because I can’t sleep, and there are so many reasons. The upper floor air is so bad I’m holding a beach towel over my face to filter out some dust. Exposed beams are covered in thick layers of dirt and dust. The room smells of old dust, and it’s making me sneeze and itch. I can see the buildup, and it’s disgusting. My husband is trying to sleep downstairs because he won’t lie under the beams while dust falls onto the bed. Our two children are asleep, or we would have left. Don’t bring your family here if you want comfort, safety, or cleanliness. Spend your money at a nice resort.
