While cycling, I had a vertigo attack and ended up in a really bad way. The manager here, I think Yoka?, was incredibly kind. She helped arrange doctors appointments and even drove me to my next accommodation. I was travelling alone in another country, and she went out of her way to help a stranger. I'm so grateful for her kindness.

The BBQ was delicious, and the portions were generous. The owner speaks simple English, so we had no problem communicating. There is free parking and bicycle parking, and the location makes it easy to get to Innoshima and Setoda while staying close to Onomichi. We came to Onomichi and Mukojima for the first time with our baby and had a wonderful stay. The facilities are old compared with luxury hotels, but they're inexpensive and well cleaned. We had no trouble staying there with a baby. If you're reading this, I recommend staying here now!

For a road trip, this is a pretty ideal overnight stop. There are two roomy tatami rooms with a sunrise sea view, plus a dormitory option if you're on a tighter budget. It's clean and quiet. Breakfast is available for an extra fee, and you can rent slippers and towels or use the laundry service for a charge. Parking is free, but you'll need to book in advance since spaces are limited.

There's plenty of room to unwind, and the facilities are pretty good. The staff are friendly and communicate in English reasonably well. It's clearly set up with cyclists in mind, which makes sense given the area. The spot itself is peaceful and right by the coast, but everything else is at least a 5min drive or a half hour walk away.
