You get facilities that match the price. The shared Japanese-style room has only a screen across the head end for privacy, and there aren’t many outlets, so bring a power strip or mobile battery. You’re provided with one futon for one person. I managed with that, but if you get cold easily, bring your own sleeping bag. The entrance, hallway, and stairs are all narrow. The entrance feels especially cramped because guests often hang their bikes on the racks. To wash your face, your options are the first-floor bathroom changing room or the second-floor toilet. There’s a shared kitchen on the second floor, but I didn’t check whether you can wash up there. I asked the owner about nearby hot springs, or public baths, and was told Kono Onsen doesn’t allow bath-only visits. It turns out they do.

The dorm was clean and very comfortable, and I’d stay again if I get the chance. The coffee shop outside the building is well equipped and serves delicious coffee. I stayed for four nights, from June 4th to 5th, 2016.
