We had Christmas lunch here and stayed nearly three hours because the atmosphere was so relaxed and nobody rushed us. The staff were excellent. The food was freshly cooked, very fresh, and there was a great variety. At other smorgasbords in Japan lately, staff often come over after 90 minutes to say time’s up and it’s the last food and drinks, but that didn’t happen here. Highly recommend.

The hotel is a long way from central Osaka, but there’s a free shuttle to Universal Studios Japan, so it could work well before or after a visit. My daughters loved the unusual creative activities in the Atelier, one of Japan’s largest creative spaces. Guests can learn through play with walls, materials, and light, and kids can draw freely on the walls of their room too. It’s a place that really encourages children’s creativity.

We’d heard mixed things from the reviews, so I was worried, but our stay was wonderful. Several staff members helped us, and every one of them was kind and attentive. The room was spacious and clean, and the Atelier looked even bigger than it did online. There was so much to do that one day wasn’t enough. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel, with lots of choices and everything delicious. It was my child’s birthday, and while we were celebrating in secret, a staff member must have noticed. The hotel surprised us with a cake bearing my child’s name. We were both overjoyed and genuinely surprised. Thank you so much. This was my second Risonare, and now I’d like to visit them all.
