The Intercontinental is in the Umeda district, just a block from Osaka JR station, and the area is very accessible. Grand Front is directly connected to the hotel, and there’s plenty of shopping and food nearby, including Lucua. Grand Green, a lovely park and open space, is also worth a look. The whole neighbourhood feels modern and beautifully designed. Umeda may have been my favourite part of Japan on this trip. We were there for two nights in late May and got upgraded to a junior suite at check-in through my credit card program. It was gorgeous and massive, especially by Japanese standards. I loved the Japanese tea set, large soaking tub with complimentary bath salts, and walk-in closet with a choice of bathrobe or yukata. The Byredo products throughout the hotel smelled wonderful and added to the luxurious feel. I also used the heated lap pool, jet hot tub, and Japanese bath house with steam and dry saunas. The hotel is very well maintained. The staff were warm, attentive, and helpful from the moment we arrived. Special thanks to Tae Kimura, who checked me in and out. She made an effort to get to know me and remember my name, and was approachable and friendly while staying professional. Her city recommendations were great. The housekeeping team also deserves recognition. I wish I’d met the person who took care of our room, because it was spotless and even our messy belongings had been arranged so neatly. The food at Noka was about average and not very memorable, although the service there was great, like the rest of the hotel. My other small complaint is that the bathroom privacy screen is somewhat see-through. I’d highly recommend the Intercontinental Osaka. Thanks to the team for making the stay so enjoyable.

The lounge team were so welcoming, and the food and other offerings were the best we had in Japan. My daughter and I stayed four nights and were delighted with the experience. Our junior suite was thoughtfully designed and exceptionally clean, with a comfortable bed and a lovely bath. We’re grateful to Mr. A. Trotner for his kindness and help during our stay. All the employees we interacted with were friendly and went above and beyond to make the visit memorable.

The service at InterContinental Osaka was top notch, and I could communicate with staff in both Japanese and English. The rooms were much larger than the usual Japanese hotel room and very comfortable. Food choices were varied and excellent. The gym and in-house onsen are probably the biggest reasons I’d come back, and I might try the spa next time if I have more time. After nearly 20 hours of flying due to delays, the staff made me feel welcome and looked after. Justin Onishi was especially friendly when I first arrived at the gym and explained the facilities. The gym was well equipped, and following it with the in-house Onsen was a perfect way to recover. I forgot my phone after one gym session, and Justin quietly woke me after I’d nodded off in the bathhouse. Thank you! The hotel sits in the heart of Umeda and connects to JR Umeda station by the raised walkways between buildings. It was my first time in the area, and the convenience was hard to beat. My room was incredibly spacious, with an amazing city view, a walk-in closet, and an open-plan bathroom. It felt like a luxury condo in the middle of Osaka. The complimentary Muchachaen Unshu Mikan from Ehime, a mandarin orange juice, was absolutely delicious. The morning buffet was another surprise since I usually eat local food outside the hotel. There was a wide selection of hot and cold items, and the made-to-order egg options were great. Thapa Baburam was friendly and attentive, and helped me practise speaking Japanese with patience while I searched for the right words. The cafe just outside the buffet area was beautiful, and its espresso hit the spot while I was dealing with jet lag. I highly recommend this location for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Umeda, Osaka. My experience exceeded expectations.

Our stay at InterContinental Osaka from 4-6 Feb,2026 exceeded all expectations. The room was spacious, exceptionally comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The hotel’s location was convenient too, surrounded by great restaurants and top shopping. We also found the spa relaxing, refined, and indulgent. The team arranged a wheelchair for our entire stay after we told them in advance about an electrical problem with our wheelchair at a hotel in Kyoto. That thoughtfulness made the trip seamless and worry-free, and impressed us deeply. From concierge to housekeeping, every staff member was warm, professional, and attentive. We felt sincerely cared for throughout this elegant, memorable stay and look forward to returning.

The Michelin-starred restaurant was a highlight, and breakfast was a pleasure each morning thanks to the consistently friendly staff. We spent a wonderful week at InterContinental Osaka celebrating the New Year, and the experience surpassed our expectations. The concierge were knowledgeable, the front desk welcoming, the Club InterContinental lounge team attentive, and housekeeping meticulous. Every interaction showed warmth, professionalism, and real care for the details, making our celebration memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for omotenashi and world-class service.
