Guesthouse E-ne

There are a few nice spots in the village to see Mount Fuji. The guesthouse has a great atmosphere and is well managed, and our Japanese style room had futons and a lovely view. There isn’t a convenience store nearby, but there’s a Yakitori restaurant 200m away. Ask the host to guide you and help order, since the restaurant staff didn’t speak English. Breakfast was good too, with eggs, sausage, salad, and bread for 600¥ per person. We recommend it!

For around ¥12000 a night, you can see fuji mountain from your room, even while lying in bed. Other hotels and guesthouses cost two or three times as much, so this place feels seriously underrated. I was surprised it even had a fuiji onzen. The room and restroom were clean, and the host was really nice. There’s a shared area with a microwave, hot water, tea bags, a coffee machine, and other things. It’s a bit remote, but driving yourself works fine, and the host can also pick you up. Definitely recommend it. I’ll visit again!

A charming homestay in a peaceful little area, with a wonderful host. If you need a break from the travel rush, this could be the place. There’s a small local restaurant nearby, which was a bonus. Our host came along to order for us because of the language barrier.

Just a heads-up: the shower room is shared, and it isn’t for private use. There’s a lock on the door to get into the shower room, but please don’t lock other guests out. If you’re not comfortable showering around others in the traditional Japanese bath-house style, you’ll need to accept that or choose somewhere else. We had a double twin room for a few days. It’s in a good spot for Lake Yamanaka and Fujiyoshida, with a decent number of parking spaces at the guesthouse. The drive in is one lane and might feel scary if you’re not used to narrow roads, though I didn’t run into much traffic going either way. The owner was polite and courteous. We didn’t try the breakfast, but it looked good. I’d recommend it for a quiet, affordable stay.
