The room itself is pretty lackluster, but the staff more than made up for that. They were so kind and accommodating. My husband was having trouble getting into the hotel, so I called the front desk. The woman who answered was lovely, even though my Japanese is limited. She understood what I was worried about and helped my husband find another elevator he could use to get in. We’re really grateful for the help!

Good spot, friendly staff, a wide bed, and free coffee.

I paid 6000 yen a night, which I know is cheap by current hotel standards, but there was still a lot that bothered me. The worst part was the bed. It was extremely dry, and the blanket was so thin it was basically a sheet. The air purifier didn’t help, and my throat ended up swollen. I really don’t get what there is to praise here. It wasn’t cheap for what I got, it was bad, and it was the worst. Getting to the front desk is awkward too. It’s on the second floor, and you have to go up by stairs, escalator, or a tiny one-person elevator. I wouldn’t call that a good location. The room was just plain small, with no real space to sit at the desk, and the outlets were badly placed. There were only two on the table, when I need at least one by the pillow. Are they kidding? It says the room has its own bathroom and toilet, but it’s a unit bath. Neither the hot nor cold water has temperature control, and the floor is incredibly slippery. Are they trying to kill me?

I was in Sendai and booked a stay with a late check-in, but ended up arriving even later than planned. The front desk staff were incredibly kind and helpful. With business hotels getting so expensive lately, especially on weekends, I was glad to find somewhere old but good enough for a night’s sleep. I assumed the station being close meant there’d be a convenience store nearby, but there wasn’t one. Should’ve picked up some groceries on the way. I took the elevator to the vending machine for a canned chuhai for my evening drink, and it came out lukewarm, lol. There was an ice machine too, but someone had already used up the ice.

I always book a deluxe room when I’m in Iwate for work. The front desk staff are consistently friendly and attentive. They even kept some things I’d left behind for six months. With parking and a convenience store nearby, it’s good value for business trips.
