La Vista Chikuni

We’ve stayed here two years in a row and would gladly return in the years ahead. It’s a small, family-run hotel with really friendly service and a great restaurant on site. The cozy room had its own bathroom, which was nice, though the bathroom itself is quite small. The gondola and ski lifts are right across from the hotel, so you don’t have to lug your gear around. The view is amazing too.

The lift is just 10 meters from the hotel, which is perfect. The staff are kind and helpful, and both the room and breakfast are simple but do the job. If skiing or snowboarding is what brought you here, this is a good spot.

I had lunch at the restaurant and asked specifically for something non-spicy. The waitress said the vegetable dish wasn’t spicy, but what I got was an extremely hot vegetable chili dish. When I raised it directly with the manager, he said I was rude for commenting on the food and staff. He didn’t acknowledge the mistake or apologize. The service was awful, and I won’t go back. Zero stars for service.

We booked eight months in advance and planned everything around the reservation, including buying our plane tickets. Then, two months before the trip, they canceled without giving a reason. I wouldn’t recommend trusting a booking here.
