Lodge Freerun

We spent a week in winter at Lodge Free Run with Mr Lodge and Sako. Our group was 14 people across three families, and we had a wonderful time. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and very helpful throughout. We enjoyed learning more about Japanese culture and language as English-speaking guests. The lodge is well placed, just 50 meters from the ski slopes and a short walk from the Tsugaike village shops. Breakfast, dinner, and drinks are available there, and the staff can suggest other local restaurants. Mr Lodge can also help arrange discounted lift passes. Highly recommend it for a stay in Tsugaike Kogen. We can’t wait to return. Thank you Lodge Freerun See you again

The host was warm and welcoming, and the meals were great. Try the local Hakuba craft beer :) You can get to the ski areas easily, and most restaurants are within walking distance. It’s lovely to walk around in the snow ❄️

This is a great, easy place to stay in Tsugaike, just a short walk from the Tsugaike Kogen bus stop. It’s friendly, clean, and in a lovely location, with amazing food. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent, and there’s a good selection of local beer, wine, and sake, including an ¥880 tasting flight. There’s a lounge for relaxing, reliable Wi-Fi throughout, and English is spoken. Laundry, showers, and a large bath or ofuro are available. Rentals are on site, with excellent rental service, and you can book lift passes directly. Highly recommend it.

The owner was so friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and cozy, and the lodge is very close to the ski resort. Highly recommend staying here :)
