Years ago I tried to come after the last train, but the place was full, so I ended up sleeping rough at the nearest station. A certain YouTuber who sleeps rough at a bench hotel did the same, so I reckon the odds of actually getting a room here are practically zero.

I visited in autumn. The guesthouse is in a renovated old farmhouse in a small hamlet in Otari Village, and it has that feeling of being back in the countryside that you don’t get at a ryokan or hotel. The homemade food is excellent too.

I didn’t stay the night, but I did have a meal and it was delicious. It seemed like local cooking with a modern, stylish touch.

Harvesting cabbage in the snow was so much fun. It was sweet with a great texture, and now I’m hooked!

I had a wonderful time here. It’s the field that appeared on Tetsu○ Dash!
