They even arranged an early breakfast for my 7:20 a.m. train, which says a lot about how hospitable this old-school place is. The canal is close by for walks, and the hotel is quiet, away from the busy part of town but near enough that bringing souvenirs back is easy. The staff treated me really well during my short stay. I can't recommend it enough.

I enjoyed staying in the Tatami room. The place was very clean, though its style is old, and the staff were polite. They didn't speak English, and everyone I saw working seemed to be over 60. There wasn't much privacy: you have to leave your key when going out, and there were no Do Not Disturb signs. Breakfast was at a set time, with a reminder call five minutes early. The food was good and unusual, but there were no choices.

The breakfast was good, and the little breakfast room has a quaint feel. It's a very clean, quiet place, with helpful staff.

The room was decent. Breakfast was good, just a bit small.
