We stayed one night, and there was plenty of space for our group of 6-8. For a longer stay, I'd say 4-6 people would fit better. The building felt secure, with passcodes for both entry and the room. It's near the station, Otaru's main street, and the canal.

Really good price for a place with all these facilities. It felt safe and homey, and you can pretty much do anything indoors except smoke. Bring yourself and some groceries, then take it easy.

A bright, roomy flat that worked well for our family of five, and it was cleaned to a high standard. The location made it easy to get to most food spots and tourist places.

The layout made this work well for a big group. We had a Japanese-style room, a Western-style guest room with three double beds, and a living room sofa that turns into a bed. The whole place felt spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has an IH oven, microwave, and toaster, handy if you want to cook with fresh Hokkaido ingredients. There are two toilets and a roomy bathroom, which were especially useful when traveling together. Our stay at "Ryoan" was very pleasant. It's about a 10-minute walk from the main street in front of Otaru Station. I stayed in a first-floor room in April 2025.

There was loads of room, since the accommodation takes up an entire floor, and the price was reasonable. It was clean and had all the cooking basics, from knives, pots and pans to dishes, so grocery shopping and making meals was easy. Self-check-in was convenient, and the big bathroom had a shelf to help keep the bath water warm. The water pressure was great too, so you could shower while filling the tub. A peeler would be useful, especially for apples. I found the place inexpensive and well suited to either a group or a couple.
