I found this place while looking for somewhere near Otsu Station for work in Uji City. Kyoto and Uji prices were high, and this area was relatively accessible. Rates change by season, but were lower than nearby places. There are both multi-story and surface parking options, with six spaces in the latter. Keep in mind the multi-story garage only takes vehicles under 155 cm tall, so even a Sienta-class car won't fit. My room on the fourth floor was a bit tight for a large suitcase, but otherwise fine. I could see Lake Biwa, though a large cemetery in the view was a little disappointing. The station is close, so train noise could bother some people. The unit bathroom is old, but clean, and the heated toilet seat worked fine. The TV was about 14 inches, which was enough since I only watched it in the morning. The provided induction kettle was old-fashioned and only boiled about 200cc at a time. I like making a few cups of coffee with a dripper, so the front desk lending me an electric thermos kettle was a real help. There were no outlets beside the bed, so I couldn't check my phone while lying down, though it seems the front desk lends extension cords. I'd heard towels were provided at check-in, but they weren't, perhaps because I didn't book through a site other than the hotel. The front desk staff were still in training, but very helpful. Easy to get to, and I'd recommend it for the helpful service.

The bright blue HOTEL Alpha-1 sign stands out along National Route 1, even at night, and makes the hotel easy to spot. I saw it while visiting near Otsu Station. It has a dedicated parking lot and was easy to reach by car. There's also a Friend Mart nearby, so the Otsu Station area is convenient. From outside, the lobby looked bright and clean, and the setting seemed dependable for either business or sightseeing.

I was here to support my favorite idol, and the polite front desk staff made a good impression on me. The hotel is close to Otsu Station, and breakfast is good value at 1,000 yen. The breakfast staff were friendly too. The facilities have that Showa-era feel, which I love as an older guy. I'd stay here again.

I booked on a whim and worried a little because of the price, but the hotel turned out to be wonderful. Places like this are hard to come by, so I hope they keep it up. The breakfast buffet was especially good. For an extra 1,000 yen, the choice was decent and it felt more luxurious than the buffet at a certain hotel. It's rare these days to find a buffet with tasty rice, but the Omi Koshihikari was so good I ate a lot. I'd definitely recommend breakfast.

The room was nothing special, and the facilities are a bit old, but for the price it was good value and perfectly acceptable. The staff were friendly, and I liked their service. I was there the night before an early golf game. Parking is mostly in a multi-story structure, but when I asked ahead about my large vehicle, they were accommodating and directed me to the lot on site. The place was a little hard to find, and there aren't any convenience stores within walking distance. It's very dark around there, with hardly any lights. Still, I'll stay again when I'm in the area to play golf.
