The views are incredible, and everything feels quiet and peaceful. It's only an hour by train from Tokyo, but feels like paradise. The service was top notch, and the staff were patient with us even though we only spoke English. I wasn't sure what to expect since I'd never tried anything like this, but I'll definitely come back. If you want to unwind for a few days, this is the place. They treat you like luxury.

We had a really good stay and felt it was good value for the money. I asked the ryokan to arrange a cake as a birthday surprise for my husband, and they handled it beautifully. The restaurant food was delicious and nicely presented. We chose a room with a hot tub, which was clean and well maintained. It's a very beautiful, quiet onsen ryokan.

So glad I found a place like this. Ms.Sachi was lovely and very helpful. From Shinjuku, it's 50 minutes on the Chuo Line limited express to Otsuki station, where they pick you up and drive you to Magi Onsen.

The inn and its garden were spacious and lovely, with beautiful lighting at night, and the meals made generous use of local ingredients. The service was truly excellent. During the factory tour, we even had coffee and got a great view of Mt. Fuji. I chose this place because I wanted an in-room bath and a high-pH hot spring in Yamanashi. The water was soft and a little yellow, smooth but not viscous. I'd say not to expect too much from the water quality, though the lodging itself was excellent.

The meals were delicious, with lots of local ingredients. The sashimi was Kai salmon instead of tuna, and the rock greens and grilled salted vegetables from Yamanashi were served piping hot. The Koshu wine steak was delicious too. The staff aren't young, but they're knowledgeable and use humor to connect with guests instead of just following a manual. That's not to say young staff are bad. The food and the genuinely friendly service are why my husband and I decided to return next year after staying in a room with an open-air bath. The public bath isn't very big, but I had it to myself when I used it. A couple things to keep in mind: the road to the inn is narrow, and there are outdoor stairs to the dining area, so take care if walking is difficult.
