Fuji Speedway Hotel

Watching race cars go around the FSW circuit from my balcony made this one of my all-time favorite hotels. I've stayed at a lot of five-star places, and this is the best one for me. The track view is hard to beat, especially if you're into cars. The staff were consistently polite and helpful. I did have a rough first night because the bedside lamp kept switching itself on after I'd turned off all the room lights. I slept only about two hours, lightly. The next afternoon I told the front desk, and when the technician came, I asked him to remove the lamp completely. He did, and I slept wonderfully the second night. Even with that issue, I'd highly recommend Fuji Speedway Hotel.

We booked the Fuji-view room with a balcony, and waking up to that sight was amazing. The hotel makes the most of the view, with tall windows along the back so you can see Mount Fuji from the lobby, breakfast area, and lifts too. We were lucky to have clear skies and saw Fuji from the hotel and every viewpoint we visited. We're F1 fans, and my husband is a proper petrol-head, so the museum and walk across to the circuit were a big part of the fun. On our first day there was a Toyota Copens meet, and the next day a track day with various sports cars. We also booked a 90 minute spa treatment and opted for the free GR Yaris for four hours. The hotel had suggested routes to Fuji viewpoints, and we had a lovely day out. The spa was lovely, if pricey, but with the car included we thought it was reasonable value. Breakfast offered a good buffet selection, plus à la carte eggs, and allergens were clearly marked. Dinner at Oyama Japanese restaurant was very good too, with allergens clearly labelled and a few gluten-free choices. The Onsen overlooking Mount Fuji was a lovely way to begin or finish the day.

We booked two nights after finding the hotel, museum, and racetrack while searching online for classic car museums. The museum and racetrack were great, and our room had a view of Mt Fuji. We especially enjoyed the outdoor onsen, with Fuji in view and a cool breeze. Dinner's Japanese tasting menu was a favorite, and we had front-row seats watching the chefs prepare the food. Breakfast and dinner were both good. The best part for us was driving three laps on the famous track, followed by go-karts. We're car buffs and loved every minute here. If you love cars, I'd highly recommend the hotel and location.

The setting is peaceful and scenic, and convenient for getting around the area. We had a wonderful stay at Fuji Speedway Hotel, with a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji, especially in the morning. After a long day, the onsen and spa were a wonderfully relaxing place to unwind. They’re beautifully designed and very clean, and the comfort and atmosphere throughout felt thoughtfully done. Highly recommend it for a relaxing stay near Fuji.
