We could hear people in the other rooms all the time, talking, using the toilet, or walking around. The building isn't soundproof, and it made it hard to sleep.

I only stayed one night, and as a first-time visitor to Japan I found the staff incredibly helpful. The breakfast was amazing, like a meal cooked at home. I have nothing bad to say about the place and would definitely recommend giving it a try.

The dining area had a lovely view of Mount Yotei, and the snowy scenery outside the window was beautiful. Staying in a log cabin made for a really comfortable experience. The boss and staff were friendly and helpful, and the setting and service were both great. I'd happily come back.

The rooms are clean, warm, and nice, and the staff were friendly. But getting around is a serious problem. There is one afternoon shuttle and two in the morning to the ski fields. The afternoon one picks you up at 3pm, so there's no way to get back to town for dinner. There are no taxis around, you can't walk, and they said the shuttle couldn't run outside those hours because of a 'law.' They said they might pick us up at other times if we paid $275 pp for dinner, which felt like a scam. There's nothing nearby, not even a convenience store, which would be manageable if transport worked. If you skip the $275 omakase, the other restaurant is overpriced too and has a limited menu. We tried the noodles, though, and they were nice and reasonably priced. I got the feeling this 'resort' was bought by a terrible business person who doesn't care about the staff or guests. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you want to leave after getting back from the ski fields at 3pm.
