Pension Uni

We were four Australians on Rebun for some walking, and Mr and Mrs Kurokawa and their son looked after us wonderfully. They even met us at the ferry terminal, which we hadn’t expected. The seafood set dinner and breakfast were outstanding. It rained while we were there, so being able to rent rain jackets and waterproof trousers from the pension was a big help. When we came back with wet boots, Mr Kurokawa dried them for us. We couldn’t speak more highly of this lovely pension.

The meals were generous and really good, whether we chose uni or went without it. The staff were so kind and helpful. We don’t speak Japanese, but they did their best to explain the menu. There’s shuttle service to most walking trails, plus two daily drives to the local onsen. The pension is cute, with little urchin logos throughout, and our room was spacious and clean. A really nice place to stay on Rebun Island.

Pension Uunii is family-run, and everyone was lovely. They used translation apps to talk with us, which worked fine. The owner can collect your luggage from the ferry station on request and arrange rides to and from the hotel. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. We had a great stay and hope to come back someday. Highly recommend it.

The family hosting us were warm and friendly, and the room was clean and well kept. They helped with rides from the ferry terminal, to the walking routes, and to hot spring♨️. We chose the meal plan and really enjoyed it. There was fish, including sashimi, every day, and we got to try sea urchin from local fishermen. A terrific stay that makes me want to visit every year.
