We enjoyed our first ski trip to Rusutu, and the room was plenty big enough. The resort is about a five-minute drive away, which worked well since we had a rental car. The place is quiet and the kitchen is fully equipped apart from cooking oil. Towels are provided, but only changed for stays of seven nights or more. The inside of the clothes washer filter was dirty. Still good value overall.

For a more affordable Rusutsu stay, this was a decent option, though you get what you pay for. We spent three nights here to snowboard. The host kindly drove us back and forth to Rusutsu Hotel and Convention for the free Sapporo shuttle bus. There’s also a bus stop a few minutes from the guesthouse for rides to the resort, but service is infrequent, so timing matters. The shared washroom setup wasn’t ideal: there were just two washrooms, and only one shower was really usable. The other shower had no door outside the shower area, so you’d have to get dressed in the open. There was no dryer either, only drying racks in the common area and a couple of hangers in the room.

A warm place with a friendly host and a nice kitchen. Getting to Rusutsu resort in the morning was easy.

The bus stop is close by, which made the location great.
