Both houses look out toward beautiful Mt. Shribetsu in summer, which we hiked. We’ve stayed in Shiribetsu and Yotei Wapura, and they mirror each other, both fantastic. We spent the last two winters and the summer here and had the time of our lives. The location is easy to recommend, with a 5-10 minute walk to the gondola at Rusutsu resort for access to the East and West mountains.

We stayed five days in December 2022 and saved money by cooking with friends. The cozy cabin had a bathtub and washing machine, and the cabin and amenities all seemed very new. It was cold on the first day because we had to wait a while for the heater to come on, but the stay was great overall. One extra note, Rusutsu Resort is a 10-minute walk in snowshoes.

I stayed here for a snowboarding trip and would definitely come back. The room was roomy, and both the bathroom and toilet were clean. Right by the entrance there was a board rack and a spot to hang clothes, which was handy, and having a washing machine makes it a good fit for longer trips. Rusutsu Resort was very close, with convenience stores and restaurants within walking distance.

We drove a rental car and found the place easily along National Route 230. Hokkaido in winter was amazing! Five friends stayed together, with lots of room to relax downstairs and three separate rooms upstairs, so it was comfortable and easy to sort out sleeping arrangements. We’ll definitely stay again.
