Business Hotel Daikyo

The bathroom mold was the one thing that bothered me. Otherwise, the room was surprisingly clean and had no odd smell.

It has that Showa-era business hotel feel. With utility costs going up, it's a real plus that the washer and gas dryer are free to use. Detergent is included too.

The room was roomy for a single, with a proper entryway where you can take your shoes off. The unit bath was small but clean, with no mold. The shower had a water-saving head, though the water flow wasn't great. The train tracks run right in front, but the noise wasn't too noticeable. The cafeteria staff were incredibly nice, and the meals were generous. Rice and miso soup were free to refill. The receptionist, though, was irritatingly unfriendly. His service wasn't actually wrong, but his tone and responses were poor. No large public bath, and there's no convenience store nearby. Rakuten Travel says bicycles may be available for rent. It was ¥6,480 a night through Rakuten Travel, with two meals, free parking, and Wi-Fi included. The Wi-Fi was difficult to connect to. A decent budget option for business travelers.

Meals being included worked out well, since the convenience stores and restaurants are far away. I usually don't go back for more, but I did get another serving of rice and miso soup. The hotel is in a quiet residential area. There's a railway line right out front, but it was completely quiet. The price was reasonable for a stay with two meals.
