Hostel Fish In A River

Taku made me feel welcome and at home. He was friendly and accommodating, and we had some lovely conversations. He also pointed me to delicious places to eat in Takayama. The cozy, warm atmosphere made my stay relaxing and memorable, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting.

Taku really made the stay for us. He was warm and friendly, speaks great English, and had all the tips and recommendations we needed. We always enjoyed chatting with him, and he even did our laundry perfectly for around 800 yen. The place feels like home, with lovely design, a cozy atmosphere, and everything super clean. It’s on a cute little street, walking distance from the station but tucked away from the busy main road with all the cars. The shower isn’t in the room, but it’s private, with one for each room. Staying here with Taku made us fall in love with Takayama. I highly recommend it.

The owner has nearly built the place himself, and it feels cozy, clean, and like home. It’s well located too. The host was the kindest, most generous and fun host I’ve ever had. I’d give it a higher rating if I could. My whole heart recommends it. Thank you for making our journey unforgettable, and all the best with everything. ❤️
