Hotel Oosado

The room’s air conditioning was the one drawback. It wasn’t working properly on May 6, 2025, in room 205. Otherwise, the location, views, service, breakfast, and onsen were excellent.

The ocean-view open-air bath was one of my most memorable moments, and the hot springs were very satisfying. The meals were simple rather than fancy, but neat and really tasty. The staff were friendly and well prepared. Oosado hotel lives up to its name with a brilliant view, especially at sunset, which stood out more than the sunrise. There was also a small piano concert in the lobby. Thanks to Kumagai San, I enjoyed my time even more. The effects of Covid seemed to have reached this beautiful island too. Now that the pandemic is over, we’re ready to travel to small cities in Japan. The kindness at the oosado hotel completed my lovely time on Sado Island.

I was so pleased to find a really good vegetarian kaiseki option for both dinner and breakfast. The room had a nice view and comfy beds, and I liked the outdoor bath. There was a bit of smoke in the hallways from a smoking room, but otherwise nothing bothered me. The staff were kind and very friendly.

The food was amazing, especially for seafood lovers, and there was plenty of it, so bring an appetite. I preferred the kaiseki breakfast to the buffet. The sea view was magnificent, and both the indoor and outdoor onsen were very nice. From the outdoor bath you could see the sea, although low bushes got in the way when you were actually in the water.
