Hotel Tennokawaso - Vacation STAY 49322v

I was very happy to have a separate bathtub in my room instead of just a unit bath. I like hot baths, so I filled it with hot water in the morning rather than using the public bath. I sweated a lot, and that morning beer tasted amazing! ♥️ The front desk staff were lovely, both day and night, and the woman gave me more miso soup when I told her how good it was. Breakfast miso soup was absolutely delicious. I don't know why the soup at big business hotels is so bland, with broth that doesn't even taste like much. There was also a slightly erotic picture on the wall of the room, lol. The room door opening inward was inconvenient, as other reviews mention, but I put up with it. Every accommodation has pros and cons. I was very satisfied with the last day of my Sado Island trip.

The Japanese-style room was reasonably clean, and I had no other problems during my stay. I booked it because I was transferring from Ryotsu Port to Niigata Port the next morning. The door only opened inward, which was a little inconvenient.

The view from the window was lovely in winter, with the sunset over Lake Kamo and snowy mountains. The staff were polite and friendly, and the hotel is close to the Sado Kisen ferry terminal, with plenty of places to get food and drinks on foot. The bath is small, though you can use it from check-in until 8:30 the next morning, so you might have it to yourself depending on when you go. I smoke, so I was glad to get a smoking room, but it may not suit people who dislike them.

The staff are really friendly, and I'll come back even if it's just once a year. The room's old and small, but it has enough space for a business trip. Don't let the age of the place put you off.
