HOTEL R9 The Yard Saito

I had a nice stay. There are family restaurants, convenience stores, and cafeterias nearby for meals. Since I like having a drink in the evening, though, being closer to town would suit me better. After eating local chicken, I always go for a beer or shochu, haha. The taxi was around 1,000 yen, and with food and drinks being inexpensive, that fare didn't feel like much of a burden.

The front desk staff were super cute, and the room was really clean. I also enjoyed the frozen breakfast options, they were delicious!

I used the coin laundry at the Saito location to catch up on the clothes I'd accumulated during my Kyushu trip. I think it cost either 700 or 800 yen for 3 kg. The machine washed and dried everything automatically, with no detergent needed, and the cycle took about two hours. It uses a PIN code, so women can leave their laundry there without worrying. Just check the hours first, since the laundry room closes late at night and stays shut until early morning. The front desk can exchange money. This was my second night in a row at a container hotel on the trip. I'd stayed at the same chain's Yatsushiro location the day before and had a great experience, so I chose Saito next. The room here was just as clean and comfortable.

I was curious about container houses, so staying here on a short trip was a good fit. The rooms were clean since the facility is still new. There's no connection to the neighboring building, which meant I didn't have to worry about noisy people next door. I knew about the frozen food service from my research, but there was a better selection than I expected, including substantial bento boxes and pilaf. I'd happily stay here again.
