Feb 2026. I got the place wrong when planning, but ended up enjoying my stay. It’s a nice town for a walk and a meal, and the bar looked good. The room was really clean compared with other hostels I’ve stayed in, where I’ve found dust, hair, or old stains. They also gave me a 1000 coupon ticket for each day of my stay, to use at a nearby place. The staff were five-star quality and did as much as they could to help. Ear plugs are free, too. The bed was hard even with the cushion, so I used my thick winter jacket to make it better. It was kind of warm, but it was winter and I was dressed lightly 🤷♂️. The pillow was nice to sleep on, though I needed a cover, so I used my shirt. You just have to make do with what you’ve got. I’d planned my itinerary around Sapporo city and hadn’t realized the trains and buses could be 30-60 minutes apart. Thanks again to the staff 👍👌

A handy base for skiing at Teine resort and other resorts. There’s a shed outside for ski storage, with a spot indoors for the rest of your gear. The dorm room gets unbelievably hot, over 80 degrees, and they won’t lower the heat or let you open a window. Sleeping was really uncomfortable. They say the rooms are separated by gender, and put me in a different hall from my partner, but there were men in the women’s room. The mattresses are rock hard. You have to pay a one-time fee for a topper, though it was worth it.

On my month-long ski trip in Hokkaido, this was the best hostel I stayed in. The sleeping cabins are roomy and have plenty of storage. The owner has a real eye for design, the cabin layout is unlike any hostel I’ve seen. The kitchen, bathroom, and living room were SUPER clean. If you skip having your bed cleaned the next day, you get a 100 yen cash coupon to spend at the hostel on things like food, towels, or toothbrushes. There’s also a paid shuttle to Teine sli Resort every day. It costs half as much as the public bus and is convenient and comfortable. Everything was perfect.

Best place to stay in Sapporo for skiing, probably! Service is the best.

Really chill place otherwise, but I wouldn’t recommend it to women traveling alone, especially in winter when it gets hectic and busy. It’s mostly men, and plenty of people don’t seem to respect personal space. For example, some men leave the bathroom door open while peeing. It’s a mixed dorm, so expect all kinds of noise, including snoring, and lots of foreign travelers who just ignore the rules. You could definitely be assaulted and nobody would even blink 👀. I warned you.
