Grand Mercure Sapporo Odori Park

8.5/10. The room was spacious, the amenities were excellent, and I loved the pajamas. Breakfast was great too, 8.5/10, and the afternoon lounge until 7 was good, with lots of alcohol. The highlight was the evening lounge from 9pm, packed with unlimited beer, wine, and spirits. The location was okay, 7/10, about a 20-minute walk to the shopping district. I stayed two nights, 22-24 Jan. The view from my room was picturesque. Would love to stay here again.

The lounge was a favourite for all of us. There were snacks and free drinks, including wine, beer, and coffee, from 3-7 and again from 9-11. It gave us a nice place to gather after walking in the snow to see the snow sculptures. I got a king-size bed, which is hard to find in Japan outside my own house. It was a bit firm, but that’s typical here. The subway is a three-minute walk away, and if you’re visiting for the snow festival, the main part starts in that same area. The tower is an easy walk too. I’d definitely stay again.

The lobby is amazing, the rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly. We loved the buffet breakfast. It’s a very nice hotel for families who put safety and relaxation first on vacation. We’ll definitely stay here again next year. Highly recommended.

The room was a bit tight, but the curtains block out all the light, which helped me sleep well despite jet lag. The headboard has USBA, USBC, and a regular power charger. Staff were warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt relaxing and welcoming. Food and the evening lounge were standouts at Grand Mercure Sapporo Odori Park. The morning buffet brings together local flavors and international favorites, including well-prepared seafood, fresh dairy, and made-to-order burgers and eggs Benedict that look as good as they taste. There’s a good range of Sapporo specialties, like soup curry, seafood don, rich seafood miso soup, and Hokkaido Yorgurt. In the evening, the lounge turns into a cozy, sophisticated place to unwind after exploring Sapporo. Mochi and other finger foods are a nice touch, with a fun, authentic taste of Japanese tradition. A chilled Sapporo Classic beer pairs well with them. It’s a memorable food experience from morning to night, with refined local flavors and thoughtful hospitality. Highly recommended if you appreciate those things.
