Grand Success Asabu I

I’ve been staying in Airbnbs for years, and I’d come back here if I had the chance. Shinkotoni Station is right in front of the hostel, while Asabu Station takes about a 10-minute walk. The room was clean, and they responded quickly and sorted out any issues right away. My only reservation is that I wish the price were a bit more reasonable.

The station is right outside, which made getting around really easy. There’s a convenience store there too, though restaurants are a bit farther away. This is a private apartment room with the amenities I needed, and I was comfortable during my stay. I did think the cleaning could be better. The cleaning fee was 6,000 yen for two nights, so I’d hoped the room would be cleaner.

Getting the key was easy, and the email and LINE exchanges with the front desk went smoothly. The place itself was beautifully done and comfortable. Having both JR and subway stations nearby was a real plus for getting around.

It was the worst. I couldn’t work out the check-in, couldn’t get into the place, and there was nobody there. The phone number they gave me went unanswered at night. They said they’d emailed the instructions the day before, but I couldn’t get to my computer, so I didn’t know what to do. They charged me the full 15,000 yen cancellation fee. It felt like a scam.
