The Base Sapporo Susukino

The owner and manager was so friendly and helpful. When someone in our group got injured, he found a hospital and drove us there. He stayed to help us communicate with the hospital staff and interpret until late at night, then drove us back to our accommodation. At check-in, he also told us about places to see in Sapporo and nearby food options. The place itself was clean and had everything we needed.

The room was clean and well furnished, and having a washer plus a bathroom with a dehumidifier was especially useful. Our clothes dried overnight, which suited a family with kids traveling light and washing often. Fresh towels came daily, but there’s no cleaning service during the stay, so you may need to tidy the room yourself on a longer visit. The competitive room price reflects that. It’s about a five-minute walk from the main Susukino area. With the underground walkways, we often walked to Susukino JR, Sapporo JR, and Odori JR, which was great in winter. Lawson is just across the street for snacks and drinks. There are places closer to the heart of Susukino if you don’t want to walk much, hence four stars for location. Mr Toshi was welcoming at arrival and departure, sorted out a minor issue quickly, and gave us plenty of good food tips nearby.

We enjoyed our stay. The property was well looked after and pretty close to everything.

The apartment was cosy and nice, with a full kitchen and washer-dryer. Lots of attractions are within walking distance, and there’s a Lawson right across the road. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and even helped us track down a luggage bag we’d left at the airport. Highly recommended.
