Holiday Inn & Suites Sapporo Odori Park by IHG

The back exit was useful once we learned where it was. It gets you to the end of Tanukikoji Shopping Street in under a minute, but there weren't any signs for it, so we only found out by asking the front desk. The hotel has two exits, and it's worth asking about the back one. Check-in was quick, done in 5-10 minutes, and a male staff member at the desk wearing glasses even helped push our luggage trolley to the room door when he saw us. Breakfast was a letdown: limited choices, cold, and poor quality, though they did have children's utensils. Our room had two twin beds and an extra bed, so it felt cramped. The bathroom setup was good in one way, with the toilet separate from the shower, but there were no towel racks. There was no drinking water dispenser in the room or on each floor. They should add one at least in the room with the microwave. You could get water from the breakfast buffet or the gym, but the gym dispenser only gave cold water even when I pressed the warm button. The top-floor public onsen is divided by gender. My mom wasn't welcomed as an IHG Platinum Elite member. After we left, we emailed two front office managers with suggestions and things to improve, but got no reply. We stayed overnight on November 28, 2025. Would we come back? Probably not.

The public bath and self-service laundry on the ninth floor were handy, and my room was roomier than you usually get in a Japanese hotel. The hotel sits just outside Section 7 of Tanukikoji shopping street. I have no complaints about the service. The sheets could’ve been softer, but I’d still recommend staying here.

Andre at the front office made a real difference during our stay. He was friendly, helpful, and explained things clearly, which made everything easier. Yukari was kind and attentive too, and helped me a lot. The whole team was warm and professional. Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and well prepared. The location is convenient, with an aeon supermarket and 7 eleven next door and plenty of restaurants nearby. I had a great stay at Holiday Inn Sapporo Odori Park and would happily return.

The beds and pillows were reliably comfortable, as they usually are at IHG hotels, and the modest room size didn’t cause any trouble. Check-in, though, was a letdown. The first staff member couldn’t communicate in English, and the person who helped next was very procedural and not warm.
