Hotel Mystays Sapporo Aspen

We came to the hotel at 9:00 PM on December 14, 2025, hoping to ask about renting two available rooms. A woman on staff was very friendly, but the male employee at the front desk was so rude that we left right away to find somewhere else. We didn’t want to stay at a hotel after that experience, and hope it closes soon. Thank you.

The hotel is old, but the breakfast was tasty. Its location near Sapporo station was useful: the Sapporo Bus Station, Sapporo Train Station, Daimaru, and Parco were all about a 5-10 minute walk away.

I liked my stay, though next time I’ll probably choose somewhere more modern and closer to central Sapporo. The hotel felt more like three stars than four to me. My superior twin room was clean and fairly spacious for a Japanese hotel. The beds were comfortable, and the individual aircon was useful. It was also less than five minutes to the JR gates at Sapporo station, and the elevators arrived quickly with no wait at check-in or checkout. The building is maintained, but it looks its age. The old carpets and wooden furniture seem to have been around for decades, and there are separate hot and cold taps in the bathroom. Dusty carpet smells in the corridors and room were strong, so I wouldn’t recommend it to people with allergies. The courtyard layout meant a long walk to the elevators from my room across the courtyard. Vending and ice machines, along with microwaves, are only on some floors. It’s near Sapporo station and Hokkaido university, but far from central attractions like Odori Park and Susukino. Walking takes about 25-30 minutes, and there’s no other convenient transport option. Staying south of the station is generally better.

MYSTAYS Sapporo Aspen made a cozy, convenient base for seeing Sapporo. The location was great, and the staff were friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable.
