Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo

I don’t often give hotels a high rating, but I’d come back to this one. It’s been recently renovated and is excellent. The rooms are small, as you’d expect in Japan, but the staff were spot-on and very accommodating, and some spoke English. Breakfast was great too, with the food labeled in English, which was really helpful. Thank YOU! 🙏🏽

The price was right, and we had a nice stay. The hot spring was comfortable, and there’s coin laundry too, with some QR code payment options for it. It’s family friendly and recently renovated, and the underground mall is just a block away.

The salad was fresh and nice, but the other breakfast food looked a bit dried out compared with the good-looking pictures on the website. The public bath was also much smaller than others I’ve visited. Those two things were disappointing; otherwise, everything was good.

This is a great choice for being close to the main station. The rooms are fully serviced, breakfast was sufficient and nutritious, and all the staff gave prompt, excellent service. Ms Sato at reception was especially patient and helpful with us non Japanese-speaking guests. At breakfast, Ms R. Sugawara and her team were always courteous, helpful, and accommodating. One note for anyone hoping for a healing onsen: staff told us the public baths use normal heated water.
