Jozankei Manseikaku Hotel Milione

The hotel arranged a convenient bus ride from Sapporo station, about an hour away. It's one of the bigger places in the area, with stylish renovated interiors and good facilities. Our Japanese-style room showed some wear, but it wasn't a real problem. The onsen was clean and had several baths at different temperatures, including an outdoor rotenburo. There was a shampoo bar with products from different brands alongside the usual soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Dinner and breakfast were buffets with lots of Japanese and Western options. The area has some interesting spots too, including a small shrine with a cave and a park that hosts a “candle road” event. We had a very pleasant stay.

The open buffet had a tasty mix of Japanese and Western dishes. I especially liked the creamy locally produced milk.

The deluxe room had plenty of space for two adults, and we were glad to find the bathroom clean. Sleeping on tatami was a pleasant surprise. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had a good selection. We spent one night at Jozankei Manseikaku hotel Milione, Sapporo two weeks ago. The setting in Jozankei was peaceful, with mountain and river views among the greenery, a nice escape from the city for hot springs and rest. We were happy with the stay and would recommend it for the calm surroundings and comfortable rooms.

The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and the toilet smelled of urine despite looking clean. We didn't want to spend another minute there, rushed to check out the next morning, and avoided using the room toilet, using the onsen facilities instead. The buffet at breakfast and dinner had a huge spread and was fairly tasty, and the onsen facilities were decent.
