Onsen Ryokan Yuen Sapporo

The breakfast was delicious, and the place felt modern, quiet, and comfortable. Staff were warm and attentive, and they all communicated well in English. There’s a Family Mart right next door, which is handy. Onsen Ryokan Yuen Sapporo is in a good spot, not too far from Sapporo station. It was a wonderful stay with great hospitality, and I’m looking forward to coming back next time I’m in Hokkaido 😊

The onsen was relaxing and well maintained, and the hotel also has food and drink options at certain times. The FamilyMart next door was a big convenience. Rooms were surprisingly spacious compared with the usual hotels in Kyoto and Tokyo, and the calm, modern ryokan design was lovely. The staff were warm, attentive, and professional. Many spoke English very well, so communication was easy from check-in through checkout. The hotel also offers luggage forwarding, which is really useful if you’re visiting several towns in Japan. Ask the front desk about it. It’s a short walk from Sapporo Station, so it makes a good base for staying in Sapporo and taking day trips from the station. Onsen Ryokan Yuen in Sapporo felt luxurious without the luxury price, like a premium stay for a fraction of the cost. One of the best value-for-money hotels I’ve experienced in Japan. Highly recommended for a visit to Sapporo.

The snowy scenery through the floor-to-ceiling windows was the part of this ryokan that stayed with me most. The view felt wide open and peaceful, whether I was looking out in the daytime or at night. Dinner was a highlight, especially the crab hot pot. The ingredients were fresh and portions generous, and it felt like an authentic, high-quality crab meal. Breakfast was satisfying too, with fresh sashimi and unagi rice. It’s a comfortable place for families as well. Staff were kind and considerate with children, and the surroundings made traveling with a child feel easy and relaxed. A lovely Sapporo stay for the views, food, and warm hospitality. Highly recommended if you want to unwind and enjoy snowy scenery and local cuisine.

The natural spring onsen was our favorite part, and we liked that traditional yukata were offered to each guest. The complimentary welcome drinks each day were another nice extra. We were two people in a Hollywood twin room, which had an extra seating area and gave us space to spread out. The front desk team was attentive and helpful whenever we needed something. Public transit options are nearby, and the city center is close enough to walk to. We loved our stay.
