Premier Hotel Tsubaki Sapporo

The room was over 30sqm and the largest I’ve stayed in in Sapporo. It had the furniture needed for a basic or more comfortable stay, a big window overlooking the river and mountains, carpeting in the room and hallway, and a decent-sized wardrobe with regular and posh hangers. The bathroom was around 12sqm, with a tub, steady hot water and pressure, an automated toilet lid that opens when someone stands in front, and daily shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, cotton buds and bath towels. A hair dryer was provided too. I paid USD165 per night in November 2025, including buffet breakfast. The selection was good quality, with Japanese and European options. Housekeeping was fast and efficient, but the quick clean missed a few things: the floor and bed were mostly tidied, while the tables weren’t wiped and there was some dust on the lamp bases. The hotel feels grand and proper, with a 5-star rate. It has a sauna, gym and microwave in the vending machine room, plus Italian, Japanese and Chinese restaurants on different floors, a barber shop and event hall. Staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating. They did their best to meet guest requests, including my urgent same-day jacket laundry request. The location is a 10/10. The Hokuto or Chuo bus from CTS stops right outside, and the return stop is across the street. It’s a quieter, less crowded area with a local feel, but downtown is walkable and there’s a convenience store across the road. I was very satisfied with the stay.

The hotel is by the river, nice for morning walks, and not too far from Sapporo JR station. It’s an older place, but you can see its former class in the reception ceiling mural and the venue’s art and style. Some areas look a little tired, though it’s otherwise great. My twin room was large, with comfortable mattresses, reliable, fast-enough Wi-Fi and a bathroom roomy enough for two. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive, and their English was good. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh Western and Japanese choices such as pastries and curries, plus very high-quality fresh fruit.

We booked a twin room for two nights and found it good value. The breakfast buffet was huge, with plenty of options for everyone. The hotel sits right by the river, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The building isn’t new, but it’s well looked after and connected to public transport. The airport bus stops right outside, which makes getting to or from the airport easy. I’d definitely recommend it for a stay in Sapporo.

The room was spacious, and we appreciated being given access to the lounge, where beer and wine are served daily from 4 to 7pm. The hotel feels a bit dated, but the facilities are good. There’s a coin laundry about a four- or five-minute walk away. Lawson and the airport bus stop are right across from the hotel, which is handy. It’s on the southern side of Susukino. To get into town, you can take the hotel shuttle or walk around 20 minutes. The breakfast selection is fairly extensive, and the hospitality was good, but the menu was the same every day. Only the type of fish changed, and it was cooked the same way. Would I stay again? Maybe, but I’d rather try somewhere new. For a first visit to Hokkaido, this hotel could be a good choice.
