Quintessa Hotel Sapporo Susukino

Getting to and from CTS (New Chitose) was easy. There’s a bus to the neighborhood for around 1,200-1,300 yen each way, and the stop is about a five-minute walk away, which is handy with heavy bags. The location is walkable to lots of places, too. I found the service pretty minimal, though not rude. The bathroom was the main drawback, since the toilet bowl felt quite small and might bother some people. My double room was still Japan-sized, but roomier than I expected for a Tokyo hotel. I could open two carry-on suitcases on the floor and still walk around, though larger luggage could make it tight. It was clean, and my three days and two nights were a pretty good stay. I’d put it around 4 out of 5, but it didn’t feel like five-star level.

The location is great, with nice amenities nearby, and aside from one big problem, the stay was pleasant. The Wi-Fi kept disconnecting so often that I couldn’t complete any work or business calls. If you need internet for a business trip, I’d avoid staying here. Honestly, snail mail might be faster. If you’re happy to go back to medieval times and leave your phone and laptop alone, then I’d recommend it.

We spent 5 days and 4 nights here, and it was good value for the price. The location was convenient, and whenever we had questions the staff were helpful. They greeted us in the lobby every time, too.

Breakfast could get crowded, and the room was so-so, just a typical Japanese business hotel. We stayed for 3 nights. Check-in was the worst part. I handed the receptionist my passport, but she stood there asking for the Agoda booking number instead of trying to look up my name. When I opened the app and showed her the number, she tapped around on my phone without actually searching for the booking. The Indian female receptionist came across as very rude, and it left me with a bad first impression of the hotel's service.
