Sapporo Prince Hotel

The staff were well trained, gentle, and very considerate. My high-floor room had a great view, the beds were firm, and the furniture was clean and seemed new. There was no strange smell, and an air purifier sat next to the bed. The bathroom wasn't new, but it was the best of the five hotels I stayed in. Breakfast was a lovely, clean buffet with lots of good choices. The hotel is in the business district, with convenience stores nearby. The famous Tanukikoji shopping area is normally about 850 metres or a 15-minute walk away, but in snowy weather it took me over 25 minutes. Everything was wonderful during my visit. I didn't have time to explore all the facilities, so I'll try next time. A good first choice, you won't regret it.

The rooms at Sapporo Prince Hotel were modern, comfortable, and spotless, with tasteful furnishings. The staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating. I had an exceptional stay, and it exceeded most of our expectations.

We spent five nights here in late November 2025. Our suite was terrific, and the staff gave first-class service. We especially enjoyed dinner at Katsura, the steak restaurant on the 28th floor, with its city views. The friendly conversation with our chef and waitress made the meal feel personal. The hotel is conveniently placed, around a 10-minute walk from Odori Park. I'd return if I visit Sapporo again.

The room was fairly spacious by Japanese standards, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel has a hot bath. But my two-night stay fell short of what I expected. The location felt inconvenient for sightseeing, as places of interest in Sapporo seemed far away. They do run a free shuttle to Sapporo Station, though it was always full in the morning. Amenities were limited to a toothbrush, and there was no coffee in the room, so you had to get it elsewhere. The front desk staff, at least three people, spoke broken English, and the hospitality felt below average. Check-in was very strict at 3 pm. I arrived around 2:45, and they wouldn't let anyone in early, not even 15 minutes before. They simply said check-in was at 3, even though I'm sure some rooms must have been ready.
