Villa Koshido Kotoni

I loved my two-night stay. The room was spotless, and the staff were so nice. They even brought my shipped luggage up to the room, where it was waiting before I arrived. It felt like having a fully furnished apartment, with a washer and dryer, kitchen, and the ability to cook my own meals. I also appreciated the coffee in the room and the real ceramic cups. The only downside was the lack of English instructions for the appliances. At one point I seriously thought there was no hot water because I didn’t realize I had to program it using the thermostat. It’s a bit away from downtown Sapporo, which is probably why the price is so affordable.

The beds were the one thing that spoiled an almost perfect stay for me. They’re much firmer than the already firm beds I usually find in Japan, and I struggled to sleep well. That made everything else less enjoyable. Without those beds, I’d be trying to move in permanently, because the rest was so good. As it is, I’m not sure I’d stay again. Each unit is a full one-bedroom apartment with all the necessary amenities. There’s a real clothes dryer, a rare luxury in Japan, plus lots of storage, a work table, a lounge area, and a kitchen with dishes and silverware. The front desk also has extra amenities, including cooking knives and other cooking gear. Staff were extremely courteous. You can store luggage after checkout until 10 pm, or arrange late checkout for 500 yen per hour. The location is good, two blocks from Kotoni subway station and about 20 meters from the nearest convenience store.

The apartment was clean, roomy by Japanese standards, and had everything we needed. It’s tucked away on a quiet little street, with a convenience store on the corner and the subway entrance just a three-minute walk away. The staff were so helpful and attentive, and it’s only a short ride to central Sapporo. I’d happily stay here again.

Our room felt like a little studio, with a kitchen and sitting area. It’s about a five-minute walk to the Tozai line, and around 15 minutes to Kotoni station on the JR line. Taxis are easy to find, and the Aeon mall basement grocery store is right by Tozai train exit 1. Really convenient. The front desk staff were incredibly kind, and housekeeping kept the room spotless.
