Hotel Okura JR Huis Ten Bosch

The train ride from Nagasaki Station takes about an hour and a half, and it was modern and comfortable. We also really enjoyed breakfast, especially the French toast, salmon, fruit, bread, and local Nagasaki dishes. Our room was spotless, huge, and packed with amenities, and the staff were excellent. They even upgraded us and gave my wife a teddy bear for her birthday, a nice one, too. What a fantastic hotel. I highly recommend it. Don’t stay anywhere else!

The onsen was good, and the concierge staff patiently explained how to pay for parking. We skipped breakfast because it was very expensive. The stay itself was comfortable, but checkout left me disappointed. We had heavy luggage and no one offered to help bring it outside. A young woman near the entrance just kept talking to someone else. It was my first disappointing experience at a Japanese hotel.

We were able to walk to the theme park, and the hotel also runs a boat shuttle there. Inside, there’s a Family Mart, several restaurants, and hot spring baths. The shop isn’t open 24 hours, and there are a few eateries outside, too. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was really good, and the staff were friendly. They gave me a complimentary bear for my birthday. The hotel felt grand, and I’d highly recommend it.

The staff were happy to help set up an anniversary surprise when I asked, and the hospitality was superb. Hotel Okura JR Huis Ten Bosch is very conveniently located at Huis Ten Bosch, with a free ferry straight to the park. Our room was clean and fully equipped, and the service was impeccable.
