Almont Hotel Sendai

I booked the wrong hotel by mistake and asked to cancel three months ahead, but they wouldn’t offer any flexibility or even move my dates. This was over Golden Week, when rooms can easily be resold at premium prices. I understand that hotels have policies, but refusing to budge at all was disappointing. Most other Sendai hotels offer free cancellation, so I’d suggest picking one of those instead.

The women’s public bath was lovely and stayed open until 2 am. My room was clean and had all the amenities I needed. The view was just the opposite wall, but I hadn’t expected anything different.

The atmosphere was great, and the staff were friendly and professional. The hotel is fairly close to Sendai’s main station. The room was a bit small, and the window wouldn’t shut all the way, so cold air came in. Road noise, including cars and travel light, was easy to hear and could disturb your sleep without earplugs.

The rooms were spotless, and the cleaning staff clearly take cleanliness seriously. I often get allergies in hotel rooms, but had no issues here. Breakfast was pretty great too, and the location is very good.
