Castle Inn Sendai

A nice hotel at a lower price than the downtown options. It's a little outside the city, so I needed to take a taxi. I'd definitely recommend it.

We got a coupon for a beer when ordering a dish, which was a nice extra. The room was comfortable, with lots of places to plug things in, including four outlets in plain sight, and plenty of luggage space. There was a welcome drink and a bottle of water too. You can reach Corona no Yu directly from the hotel without going outside, and the indoor wear they provide means there's no need to bring clothes for the hot springs. The bus stop isn't too far, but buses don't come often, so check the schedule beforehand if you're relying on public transit.

The room was clean and had what I needed. Corona no Yu's hot spring baths are easy to reach in the hotel's pajamas, and I also got a complimentary drink coupon for the restaurant. The station is a bit far, though a taxi costs around 1,000 yen.

There's free parking, so a rental car makes sense. The hotel works well for business trips, and with Corona World on site you also have entertainment facilities and a large public bath. The countryside setting means the rooms are spacious and comfortable. At check-in they ask whether you'll use the open-air bath. If you do, you need to pay the accommodation tax and bathing tax. Guests can use the large public bath as often as they like, including its two kinds of sauna and open-air bath. Breakfast is similar to what APA Hotels serves, but with a few more main dishes. For the price, it's very good value. There's a restaurant inside the bath complex, though you could also rent a car and try places in the surrounding area.
