Hotel Mayflower Sendai

The lobby has free drinks, and the location is great. The hotel itself is very small, though, and the decor made me think of a prison cell or some kind of homeless shelter. My room smelled of bleach, and there was a small locker for clothes.

The staff were wonderful, and that’s the one thing I can praise without hesitation. The lobby has free non-alcoholic drinks, and there’s a communal bath and sauna, though neither was anything special. Getting here with bags means a bit of a walk uphill from the station. Internet is available on every floor, but it kept dropping out and was nearly unusable. The room was fine, but they only give you one key. The price was middling, neither particularly cheap nor expensive. It was okay, but next time I’m in Sendai I’ll look for somewhere else.

The price was good, but the air conditioner was noisy, and that was a serious problem.

The single room was surprisingly roomy, and came with slippers and loungewear. I liked the lamp by the bed, especially that you can adjust its brightness.
