The farm, forest, ocean, marsh, and mountains around this magical little house make this part of east Hokkaido feel really special. Ikue was a lovely host, and the forest dinner and tent sauna were well worth trying. The food was delicious. We’d happily recommend booking here.

From this quiet little house, you can reach the coast and eastern peninsulas easily, and it felt like a great way to experience everyday Japan with the freedom to come and go. It sits at the edge of a village with a few shops and gas stations; larger towns and a hypermarket are about a 10-15 minute drive away. The house is peaceful, right by fields and forest in eastern Hokkaido, and Ikue shared lots of helpful information about the area.

It was a worthwhile drive to get here. The scenery is breathtaking, and Ikue made us feel very welcome. The place is compact but thoughtfully laid out, and it worked well for our family of four over 10 days.
