The hot spring stay was really nice, and the staff were kind. The person who helped us check in, showed us to the room, and assisted with dinner was especially helpful. He didn't know much English, but still did his best to explain the dishes and help us settle in. I don't know his name, but his name tag had one word and he wore glasses. He reminded me a bit of myself because I've worked in hotels before, so I know how hard it can be to communicate in an unfamiliar language. A very nice experience.

We went for a relaxing night without the kids, and that's exactly what we got. The hospitality and service were very good, credit to the staff. Our room had a view and a private onsen bath, which was lovely, and I slept so well. Dinner and breakfast service were impeccable, and the food was really tasty. I took off one star because parts of the interior are dated and a bit rough around the edges, though still nice. A lovely stay.

The outdoor bath wasn't hot enough for me, especially with the temperature dropping to -1C at night. The room was big, clean, and nice, and the food was good. Staff who speak English are available. The location is great, just a one-minute walk from the ikaho onsen bus stop.

This is one of the few ryokan in the area that takes solo travelers. I stayed in a room with an open-air bath. It uses hot water, and from the bath there's a direct view into the room and the TV. The TV is a newer model with Netflix and YouTube, and there's a Dyson hair dryer in the room. The public onsen was nice and helped relax my sore legs.

The food and service were really good during our overnight stay with a group of coworkers. Getting around inside was a little confusing because the hotel has two buildings. Guest rooms are in one, and banquet rooms and baths are in the other, connected by a hallway in the basement.
